Privacy Policy

Last updated:

Your privacy is critically important to us. At Tools99, we have a fundamental principle: we do not collect or store your personal data for most tools. All our tools are designed to work entirely within your browser. This policy outlines how we handle information in the context of our website.

1. The Tools99 Privacy Guarantee

When you use a tool on our website, any data you input or upload is processed directly on your device by your web browser. It is never sent to, stored on, or processed by our servers. Once you close the browser tab, the data is gone. This client-side processing model is the core of our commitment to your privacy.

An exception to this is the "Online Notepad" tool, which uses your browser's local storage to save your notes. This data remains on your computer and is not transmitted to us.

2. Information We Collect (Non-Personal)

While we do not collect personal data you input into our tools, we do collect standard, non-personally identifying information to operate and improve our website.

Log Data

When you visit our website, our servers may automatically log standard data provided by your web browser. This may include your device’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, and the time spent on each page. This information is used for analytics and to monitor the health of our services. It is not linked to any personal information.

Usage Analytics

We may use a third-party service like Google Analytics to collect anonymous traffic data. This helps us understand which tools are most popular, how users navigate our site, and where we can make improvements. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.

3. Cookies and User Consent

We use cookies for a limited number of purposes. A cookie is a small piece of data that a website stores on your device when you visit. We may use cookies to:

  • Understand and save user preferences for future visits (e.g., light/dark theme).
  • Compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interactions to offer better site experiences and tools in the future.
  • Manage user sessions for features like our blog comments section.

By using our site, you consent to the use of these cookies. You can choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options. However, this may affect your ability to experience certain features of our site, such as logging in to comment.

4. User-Generated Content (Comments)

To provide a comment section, we use Firebase Authentication and Firestore. If you choose to create an account and leave a comment, the following information is stored:

  • Authentication Information: Your email address and a secure hash of your password, or the authentication details provided by a third-party login provider (like Google), are managed by Firebase. We do not have access to your raw password.
  • User Profile: A basic user profile containing a display name you provide.
  • Comments: The content of the comments you post, along with your user ID and a timestamp.

This information is used solely for the purpose of displaying your comments and managing your identity on our platform. You have the right to request the deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

5. Security of Your Information

Because we do not collect or store the data you use in our tools, the security of that data remains in your hands. For our website itself, we take reasonable precautions to protect our systems from unauthorized access. For user accounts and comments, we rely on the robust security infrastructure of Google Firebase.

6. Links to Other Websites

Our website may contain links to other websites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

8. Contact Us
